Porter Haworth is run by Steve Porter. He was born and brought up in London, but has lived and worked in a number of places around the world including Hamburg in Germany which was home for six years and where he learnt to speak German.
His love of Architecture started early. Childhood walks with his mother in the early 70’s, around their home in central London and along the Thames, took him past some of the capital’s most notable buildings old and new; many now gone, but those that remain are still some of his favourites.
After studying Architectural Technology and working for a design practice in West London, Steve started Porter Haworth in 2005; projects in London and the home counties followed. A move to Dorset in 2006 saw a set of new challenges working with a wide variety of buildings and materials not previously encountered in London.
Lyme Regis is now home to the company where we are lucky to have offices located in a Grade II listed building with views over The Cobb and out to sea.
Steve often spends his spare time in, on and near the sea. In 2017 he volunteered as a Deputy Launching Authority at the Lyme Regis RNLI Station.
